How did you acquire your scooter? Bought online unseen, courier delivered (what made you buy it -love at first sight etc 😊)

How do you typically use your scooter? Runs, ride outs but mostly just me for a toodle

Furthest Trip Ridden on this Scooter? Aberystwyth from Rochdale or Northern Ireland

How do you buy 2 stroke & engine oil?  In bulk mail order

What are some of the unique features of your scooter? Paint, rear light, badges, 12volt DC shocks, it has a trailor,

Any plans for your scooter in the future? A repaint when I am flush.

Are you active in the scooter community? A little bit, not hardcore by any means

How did you get into scooters? Documentary when I was at school, everyone was talking about the programme and I just loved it and decided there and then I was a mod, thin tie next day lol

What is your fondest memory of riding your scooter? With all my good pals, going out on Saturday night dressed up on our scooters together, probable to Huddersfield to The Manor House “Our Mod Club”

What do you find to be the most challenging aspect of owning a scooter? Keeping them going, money and the wife’s absolute lack of interest, which to be fair is …..more often than not, a good thing…..

What are some of the most mistakes you/people make when restoring scooters? Listening to gob shites that think they know and know bugger all???
Don’t think anyone else cares about your ride, it’s down to you. You decide, you pay.

What specific advice would you give to someone who is considering restoring a vintage scooter? Do it, it’s good for your soul but if you have to think about the money your spending I’d say buy a good one already done, it will save you heartache pain and a xxxx load of cash.

Where have you found the best resources for vintage scooter parts and information? Old men who know, Pete Merchant, Brian Clough and Dereck Higham for a great finish.

What do you find to be the most rewarding aspect of owning a scooter? My life would be empty if there wasn’t a Lambretta in my shed, trust me I’ve tried it.
I love the machines, they try to kill you every time you go out, temperamental, dirty and frustrating but a good ride in the sun with a large group of like minded cool folk…. nothing to touch it, if you get home with no problems then it’s just glorious.

What are some of the things you hope to see happen with scootering? I want and am sure it will happen, a revival.
Young kids getting involved, new rally ideas and better organized clubs. It’s too much of a nod and a wink type see what happens when I get there, if I do? Or at least that’s my experience.

What do you most enjoy about your scooter? Looking at it as much as riding it, mending it as much as cleaning it, admiration from those that know, and being a scooter boy.

What are some of the best places to ride a vintage scooter? I would love the Amalfi coast but I’ve promised my wife no euro travel, since my pal broke his neck leaving him paralysed and the costs involved in his repatriation and care. It would be a step too far in the selfishness stakes which I’m already pushing lol

How do you see as the future going with regards to scooters? I think auto will get bigger and bigger and the scene will change beyond all recognition within 10 years but I don’t think it’s going away ever. My hope is that vintage scooters are what everyone who rides an auto aspire to, this isn’t the fact just now but I expect it will be once lots of cheap autos have flooded the market.

Please share a funny or interesting story that for you wasa special moment., or something our audience might enjoy? My memory is rubbish and I’m even worse at telling jokes, but the amount of times I have been creased up over something that happened has been endless, scooterist in general are mental
