Not knowing if the Bugger will start

What are some of the most mistakes you/people make when restoring scooters?
Stripping is the easy bit. It’s putting it back together. Too many people start a project ie take it apart, then rapidly run out of funds / enthusiasm and heart. The scooter then sits in the garage for ever.
What specific advice would you give to someone who is considering restoring a vintage scooter?
Get a good scooter garage involved or a keep scooter builder

I have two local scooter restoration garages in Cornwall

I moved to Cornwall from Leicester in 1983 to Bodmin. I met a very young (14 year old local mod) I inspired this young lad and he went on to achieve great things in the Lambretta world. Fast forward to 2019 and by complete accident I found an article in a 2011 Scotering magazine where the young mod was having one of his many Scooters from over the years featured. In this article, the questioned said… so how did you get into Scooters? Dean Orton said “I was inspired by a Mod, Julian Murch, who had just moved from Leicester to Cornwall “
